Danfoss IXA Marine Emission sensors
NOx, SO2, NH3 CEMS for general exhaust monitoring or in SCR applications
The MES 1001 basic version CEMS measures NOx, SO2 and NH3 gases independently or as a combination directly in the exhaust uptake. It carries out fast and accurate measurement of emissions.
– This CEMS is very compact, easy to install, operate and maintain at a low cost
– It allows low-emission equipment monitoring to showcase owner’s green credentials
to customers
– NOx continuous values allow the the ship owner to verify SCR performance is satisfactory
– Widespread urea overdosing in SCRs known to cause harmful ammonia slip can be
avoided by NH3 gas monitoring
The MES 1001 MARPOL is an upgraded version of the basic CEMS and is approved as per MARPOL regulations. It has a built in calibration system which can be connected to carry out onsite gas calibration. The CEMS can additionally measure SO2 and NH3 gas.
– A shipowner can avoid carrying out spot checks on the SCR system, since MARPOL
permits the fixed installation CEMS to log tamperproof NOx values
– The system is compliant with with the latest requirements of the NOx technical code and can meet forthcoming mandatory requirements of the EU Marine Equipment Directive
– It is designed for easy on-site gas calibration by ship’s crew for meeting mandatory
SCR Annual survey requirements
– The CEMS can be easily replaced as a cold spare redundancy

Precise and continuous measurement
MES 1002 enables precise and continuous measurement of the environmentally harmful gasses SO2 and CO2, directly in the exhaust pipe, which ensures fast and accurate measurement.
– The CEMS is compact, easy to install, operate and maintain at a low cost
– The CEMS is compliant with the guidelines defined in MEPC.259 (68)
– It is designed for easy on-site gas calibration and regular mandatory checks by ships crew as needed by regulatory bodies
– The CEMS can be easily replaced as a cold spare redundancy to ensure continuous use of cheap high sulphur fuel in the scrubber system
Cost-efficient washwater monitoring
The MES 1003 system documents the level of pH, PAH, turbidity and temperature in the scrubber washwater. It is based on a costeffective sampling principle with one washwater analyzer unit and a number of washwater sampling units. It can also be used effectively if washwater is monitored only at the scrubber outlet.
Increased focus on the environmental impact from the marine industry has led to an increased focus on regulations related to emissions from the shipping industry, and Washwater Monitoring System, MES 1003 helps you achieve reliable washwater monitoring and documentation compliant with the limits established by the International Maritime Organization in MEPC.259 (68).
Washwater Monitoring System, MES 1003 is a solution used on vessels equipped with an Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS) scrubber. The system measures values between inlet water and discharge water of the scrubber.
It is designed for easy onsite verification, calibration and regular mandatory checks by ships crew as needed by regulatory bodies
